The Government of British Columbia created the Supportive Housing Fund (SHF) in 2018. This fund pays for the operations of supportive housing buildings across the province.

Through Budget 2018 and Budget 2023, the Province committed $2.3 billion to build 5,700 supportive housing units. These homes include 24/7 on‑site support services.

Supportive housing is subsidized housing with 24/7 onsite support services for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Staff are on-site at all times to help residents stay housed and connect them with health care, social supports, and community services. Learn more about Supportive Housing.
