The Government of British Columbia established the Women’s Transition Housing Fund (WTHF) in 2018 to support the operational needs of Women’s Transition Housing and Supports Program (WTHSP) sites across the province. Through this fund, work is well underway to create 3,000 new spaces for those who need safe housing and support.
WTHSP housing supports women, gender diverse people, and children who are at risk of, or have experienced, violence. These housing sites offer safe shelter, support services, referrals, and help with planning next steps.
