MAPLE RIDGE – BC Housing is hosting a drop-in public information session in Maple Ridge to inform residents on the plans for proposed supportive housing, affordable rental housing, and expanded mental-health and addictions support for people in Maple Ridge.

KAMLOOPS – People in Kamloops will benefit from a partnership between the Province and the City of Kamloops that will deliver more than 100 new homes with 24/7 support, helping those most in need, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.

VANCOUVER – The Government of British Columbia is investing in people in the Downtown Eastside with approximately 450 units of affordable rental housing being constructed for low-to-moderate-income households.

SURREY – People who are homeless, including those camping along 135A St. in Surrey, will soon have access to safe and supportive housing.

MAPLE RIDGE – People who are struggling with housing affordability and homelessness in Maple Ridge will soon have access to new supportive housing, affordable rental housing and expanded mental-health and addictions support to help them maintain stable housing.

VICTORIA – People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Town of Smithers will soon have access to new supportive housing as part of the British Columbia government’s modular-housing program.

SECHELT – The Government of British Columbia, in collaboration with the District of Sechelt and RainCity Housing, will open a year-round shelter to provide a safe, warm place to stay for people who are struggling with homelessness – especially during the cold winter months ahead.

MAPLE RIDGE –People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Maple Ridge will have access to additional shelter spaces during extreme weather conditions this season.

PENTICTON – People experiencing homelessness in Penticton will soon have access to new supportive housing with the Province and the City of Penticton entering into a partnership to provide up to 52 units of modular housing.

VICTORIA – People struggling to find an affordable place to live in the Columbia Basin region will have access to new affordable rental housing thanks to a partnership announced today between the B.C. government and the Columbia Basin Trust.

QUESNEL – In response to community concerns, BC Housing will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to invite qualified non-profit societies to submit proposals to operate a proposed new supportive housing project.

VIEW ROYAL – The temporary shelter, Choices, will continue to provide housing for people in need until spring 2018.

Today, BC Housing Management Commission, the City of Vancouver and the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation filed legal documents seeking an injunction to guarantee construction crews will be able to access the site of a temporary modular housing project at 7430 & 7460 Heather Street (650 West 57th Avenue).

KELOWNA – The Province and the City of Kelowna are working together to provide individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness with access to more supportive housing and shelter spaces.

PARKSVILLE – People struggling with homelessness in Parksville now have access to nightly shelter spaces during the cold and wet winter months.

VICTORIA – People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Prince Rupert, Terrace and Vernon will soon have access to supportive housing as part of the Province’s new modular-housing program, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Selina Robinson announced today.

VERNON – People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Vernon will soon have access to supportive housing thanks to a partnership between the Province of B.C. and the City of Vernon to develop two new modular-housing projects in the community.

VANCOUVER – People in need of a safe, warm place to go during the cold and wet winter months ahead will soon have access to additional shelter spaces in Vancouver.

VANCOUVER – People will soon have access to safe, affordable housing thanks to a province-wide program to help municipalities tackle homelessness. The program will provide hundreds of new modular housing units in communities from Vancouver and Surrey to Smithers, Premier John Horgan announced today.

RICHMOND – Homeless residents (individuals who are homeless) will benefit from a new emergency shelter, providing a relocation and expansion of current services that have been offered in Richmond for the past 20 years. The new shelter, to be located at 12040 Horseshoe Way, is the result of an innovative partnership between the City of Richmond, The Salvation Army, and the Province to deliver much needed shelter spaces in Richmond.

KELOWNA – The Province is providing additional housing and support for individuals who have been homeless or are at risk of homelessness with the purchase and renovation of the Kelowna Good Night Inn, located at 2639 Highway 97 North.

PENTICTON – The Province is providing $4.5 million to purchase the Super 8 motel, located at 1706 Main St., for supportive housing.
