LANGFORD – People with low to moderate incomes, including families, seniors and people with disabilities, are moving into 80 new affordable rental homes, with the opening of Phase 2 of the Oak Park redevelopment in Langford.

WILLIAMS LAKE – To support people experiencing homelessness who need a safe, secure place to stay in Williams Lake, the Province is partnering with the Cariboo Friendship Society to open a temporary Emergency Response Centre (ERC).

NANAIMO - Construction is complete on 23 new affordable rental homes in Nanaimo through a partnership between the Province and the Vancouver Island Mental Health Society.

PRINCE GEORGE – People experiencing homelessness in Prince George will soon have more housing and shelter options in the community.

SAANICH - The Tsartlip First Nation took possession of the former Woodwynn Farm property on the Saanich Peninsula on Dec. 16, 2020, after the provincial government and Tsartlip signed a historic agreement to transfer the land to the Nation.

SURREY – Thirty-eight new supportive homes are opening in Surrey, while construction is set to start on 40 additional homes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the community.

PENTICTON – The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased a site in Penticton as the future location of 50 new permanent supportive homes for people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

CRANBROOK - People with low incomes soon will have more access to affordable homes in Cranbrook with construction underway on a 20-unit rental housing project in the community.

BC Housing has released the following statement from Cassie Doyle, Chair of the Board of Commissioners:

VICTORIA – More than 600 new affordable rental homes are on the way for people with low- to-moderate incomes through the Building BC: Community Housing Fund.

VICTORIA – People in need of a warm, safe place to go during the months ahead will have access to additional emergency shelter spaces through BC Housing’s temporary and extreme weather response shelter programs.

RICHMOND – BC Housing and the City of Richmond are working together on a proposal to create new temporary supportive housing for up to 40 people experiencing homelessness in the community. BC Housing has applied for a temporary use permit to open this housing at 2520 - 2640 Smith Street, which would be in operation for three years until a permanent housing option is available.

VICTORIA - The Province is launching a new set of projects through the Building BC: Community Housing Fund with nearly 540 affordable rental homes on the way for people with low to moderate incomes.

NANAIMO - The Province, through BC Housing, is working with the City of Nanaimo to open British Columbia’s second navigation centre to provide accommodation and supports for people experiencing long-term homelessness.

KEREMEOS - Construction is starting on 43 affordable rental homes in Keremeos for families, seniors and people with disabilities, through a partnership between the Province and the Lower Similkameen Community Services Society (LSCSS).

FERNIE - Construction is starting on 49 new affordable rental homes for families and seniors in Fernie through a partnership between the Province, the Columbia Basin Trust (CBT) and the Fernie Family Housing Society.

KELOWNA - The Province, through BC Housing, and Turning Points Collaborative Society, is working on a proposed development to build up to 52 new homes with supports for people experiencing homelessness.

VALEMOUNT - Construction is underway on 13 new affordable rental homes for seniors and families in Valemount through a partnership between the Province, the Columbia Basin Trust, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and the Valemount Affordable Rentals Society (VARS).

NANAIMO - Seniors, people with disabilities and other people with limited incomes are moving into 85 new affordable rental homes in Nanaimo as two housing projects open in the community.

Construction is underway on a new Indigenous housing project for women and children and for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Lower Post, thanks to a partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the Daylu Dena Council.

PORT ALBERNI – Construction is set to start on nearly 50 new, affordable rental homes for families and seniors in Port Alberni, as a result of a partnership between the Province and the Alberni Low Energy Housing Society (ALEHS).

KAMLOOPS - Seniors will soon have more affordable homes to choose from in Kamloops as construction gets underway on a 37-unit rental housing project in the community.

NEW WESTMINSTER - Over 40 new supportive homes are open in New Westminster, providing safe, warm homes with around-the-clock care and supports to help women experiencing homelessness in the community.

KAMLOOPS – With the help of additional funding through the Province’s 10-year housing plan, 60 new affordable rental homes are now under construction in Kamloops.

VANCOUVER – The Province and City of Vancouver are partnering to launch B.C.’s first-ever"navigation" centre to help people who are experiencing long-term homelessness and require supports.

VICTORIA – The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased property in Victoria to build up to 50 new permanent homes with around-the-clock supports for people in the community experiencing homelessness.

VICTORIA – The Province has partnered with the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society to open 21 new supportive homes for Indigenous women who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria.

VANCOUVER - Low- to- moderate-income families, seniors and people with disabilities are moving into 67 new affordable rental homes in Vancouver.

KELOWNA - Fifty-one supportive homes with around-the-clock supports are opening in Kelowna to help people experiencing homelessness in the community.

VICTORIA – More than 60 new rental homes are under construction in Victoria through the Province’s HousingHub program.
