SURREY - Approximately 100 new affordable rental homes in Surrey are now open for veterans, first responders, legion members, families and individuals.

People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Prince Rupert have access to 46 new homes with supports now that Crane’s Crossing is open and providing supportive housing.

VANCOUVER - More rental housing options are now available for families, seniors and individuals with middle incomes in Vancouver with the opening of a new 52-unit apartment building.

CRANBROOK - People experiencing or at risk of homelessness will soon have a new permanent shelter to rely on as the Province through BC Housing, has bought a property in Cranbrook.

NANAIMO– The Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, Taleeb Noormohamed, Member of Parliament for Vancouver Granville, Sheila Malcolmson, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Nanaimo, Harwinder Sandhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors' Services and Kerry Howell, President, Woodgrove Senior Citizens Housing Society announced today $9.3 million in federal and provincial capital funding for construction of 62 new rental units for moderate and low-income seniors in Nanaimo. Construction at Sunfield Manor is currently underway.

WITSET FIRST NATION– The Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, Taleeb Noormohamed, Member of Parliament for Vancouver Granville, Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Delta North, Nathan Cullen, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Stikine, and Lucy Gagnon, Executive Director, Witset First Nation announced approximately $6 million in funding for a new affordable 26-unit building for elders, individuals and families of Witset First Nation.

SALMON ARM – People experiencing homelessness in Salmon Arm will soon have access to a warm, safe place to sleep when a new temporary winter shelter opens in the community.

New data released by BC Housing shows a record number of purpose-built rental homes will help increase needed rental stock in British Columbia.

VERNON - The Province, through BC Housing, has partnered with the Turning Points Collaborative Society and the City of Vernon to open 52 new supportive homes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Vernon.

KAMLOOPS - The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the former Lamplighter Motel in Kamloops to ensure people at risk of homelessness in the community continue to have a place to live.

LHTAKO DENÉ NATION - Families and individuals of the Lhtako Dené Nation will soon begin moving into 10 new on-reservehomes, with the opening of an affordable rental development.

COQUITLAM - Families, seniors and people with low to moderate incomes are moving into 75 new affordable rental homes with the opening of Mountain View Suites in Coquitlam.

PORT ALBERNI - Construction is underway on 22 safe and secure second-stage homes in Port Alberni for women and their children leaving violence.

State-of-the-art long-term care and dementia care is coming to Comox, providing 156 beds for people and their families in the Comox Valley.

N'QUATQUA - N'Quatqua Nation Elders, families and members have access to 10 new affordable rental homes with the opening of a development on N'Quatqua Nation land outside D'Arcy.

SURREY - The Province, through BC Housing, is partnering with the Community Land Trust of B.C. (CLT), the Sunshine Housing Co-operative and the City of Surrey to build a new 69-home affordable co-operative housing development in Surrey.

VICTORIA - People experiencing or at risk of homelessness will have increased support to access and retain housing through the Province's new Supported Rent Supplement Program (SRSP) which will provide rental, health, social and cultural supports.

PORT ALBERNI - Huu-ay-aht First Nations and B.C. are celebrating the creation of the Oomiiqsu (Aboriginal Mother Centre), a new housing, support and child care centre that will help Indigenous women and children on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

MERRITT - Families, seniors and individuals in Merritt are moving into affordable new rental homesas the doors open on a 75-unit apartment project.

VICTORIA - Construction has started on 50 new safe, secure homes for women and children fleeing violence on the Westshore, which is the result of a partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the Victoria Women’s Transition House Society (VWTHS).

SURREY - Residents of Jennings Place are living in improved comfort, safety and security following the completion of a $7.9-million renovation to the 52-unit townhouse complex.

LANGLEY - Families, seniors and individuals will soon have access to 98 new affordable homes in the Township of Langley, with construction underway on a new housing development for low- to moderate-income households in the community.
