VANCOUVER - Seniors living in the 33-unit Harmony House in Vancouver's Chinatown will be able to stay in their homes because the Province has bought the building to preserve its ongoing use as affordable rental housing.

VERNON - Seniors with low to moderate incomes are settling into 48 new affordable rental homes that are open in Vernon.

CASTLEGAR - New affordable rental housing is coming for families, seniors, individuals and people living with disabilities in Castlegar as construction has started on 13 new homes in the community.

GIBSONS - More affordable housing is coming to Gibsons as construction starts soon on 76 homes for low- and middle-income seniors.

PARKSVILLE - A new affordable housing development in Parksville has opened, providing 87 new affordable rental homes for families, seniors, veterans and people living with disabilities.

KAMLOOPS - The Province has partnered with Ask Wellness Society to preserve 24 units of affordable housing for people transitioning out of homelessness in Kamloops.

HAZELTON - Seniors, families, individuals and people living with disabilities in the village of Hazelton will soon have access to more affordable housing as construction begins on 31 rental homes.

QUALICUM BEACH - Work is underway in Qualicum Beach on a new 56-unit apartment and townhome development that will provide affordable rental housing for families, seniors and individuals with low to moderate incomes.

ABBOTSFORD - An important step in breaking the cycle of homelessness in Abbotsford has been completed with the closure of the Lonzo Road and Sumas Way encampment and the start of construction on a new 50-bed shelter.

LANGLEY - Women and their children leaving violence in the Langley area will soon have 17 new safe and secure beds available to them.

VALEMOUNT - Seniors in Valemount will have access to 18 new affordable rental homes in the coming year, all of which will be accessible for people with increased mobility requirements, as the Ash Street project gets underway.

PRINCE GEORGE - Safe and secure homes with supports for as many as 30 people experiencing homelessness in Prince George are coming soon.

SALMON ARM – The Province, through BC Housing, and the City of Salmon Arm are working together on plans to build a new long-term shelter for people experiencing homelessness in the community.

The Snuneymuxw First Nation and the Province, through BC Housing, met to celebrate progress on a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and reaffirm their intention to work together on a holistic approach to housing that integrates learning, wellness and healing.

BURNABY - Families, seniors and individuals in Burnaby will benefit from nearly 1,500 new affordable rental homes with the Province investing approximately $253 million to build several new developments.

VANCOUVER - A new housing project is on the way in Vancouver that will provide 258 rental homes for families, seniors and individuals in the community.

MISSION - Residents of Welton Towers in Mission are living in safer, more comfortable homes following renovations to the 61-unit seniors' apartment building.

Pitt Meadows - Families, seniors, individuals and people living with disabilities can look forward to 115 new affordable rental homes and 150 child care spaces in Pitt Meadows.

COURTENAY - The Province, through BC Housing, is in the process of purchasing the Super 8 hotel in Courtenay to ensure residents of the Travelodge are not left without housing when that lease expires in late June 2023.

COQUITLAM - People who need accessible housing, such as seniors and people living with disabilities, have started to move into 12 new affordable and safe rental homes in Coquitlam.

More people living in single-room occupancy (SRO) hotels in Vancouver will be able to access improved services and supports through a provincial grant of $11 million to the Downtown Eastside SRO Collaborative Society (SRO-C).
