PRINCE GEORGE - The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased a supportive housing building in Prince George that will provide as many as 22 homes with support services for people experiencing homelessness.

BURNABY – Under the direction of the Board of Commissioners and CEO, BC Housing has taken significant steps to address organizational structure and capacity, financial systems, governance practices, and policies related to oversight, transparency, and conflict of interest.

A new forensic investigation of BC Housing tabled in the legislature has found mismanagement related to a conflict of interest between the former CEO of BC Housing and his spouse, the CEO of Atira Women's Resource Society.

Indigenous Elders, individuals and people living with disabilities with low to moderate incomes will soon have access to 40 new affordable homes in Courtenay.

VICTORIA - People with moderate and low incomes are settling into new affordable rental homes in downtown Victoria with the opening of The Dalmatian.

NANAIMO - Families with low or moderate incomes, seniors and people living with disabilities now have access to 74 new affordable rental homes with the opening of a new apartment building in Nanaimo.

TERRACE - The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the property at 5422 Highway 16 W. in Terrace to provide 19 homes for tenants displaced from the privately owned Coachman Apartments building.

VICTORIA – After a rigorous search, BC Housing’s board of commissioners has selected Vincent Tong as CEO.

CRANBROOK – People with low incomes in Cranbrook now have access to 20 new affordable rental homes with the opening of Victoria Gardens.

QUESNEL - Twenty-six new affordable rental homes are now open for Indigenous Elders, couples and people living with disabilities in Quesnel.

VERNON - Twenty-five families, seniors and people living with disabilities in Vernon are settling into new affordable rental homes with the opening of two projects completed as a result of partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the Okanagan Village Housing Society.

VICTORIA – To help deliver more homes faster for people in Vancouver, the Province is introducing legislative amendments through the Municipalities Enabling and Validating Act.

KAMLOOPS - As many as 75 people experiencing homelessness will continue to have a safe and warm place to stay with the extension of two temporary shelters in Kamloops, announced by the Province, through BC Housing.

COURTENAY - Women and children leaving violence in Courtenay will soon move into newsafe and secure homeswith the opening of Darry’s Place.

SQUAMISH - People in Squamish will have more affordable rental options to choose from with more than 140 new homes opening in two projects in the community.

PORT COQUITLAM - The Province, through BC Housing, and Metro Vancouver, through the Metro Vancouver Housing Corporation, are working collaboratively to build new affordable housing for people in the Metro Vancouver region.

More than 200 units are on the way for people in Vancouver as the Province has purchased a 115-unit building at 1450 West 12th Ave. to provide supportive housing and a 95-unit building in Gastown is also set to reopen.

KAMLOOPS - The Province, through BC Housing, is helping preserve affordable rental housing in Kamloops by buying 435 Cherry Ave.

VANCOUVER - The Province is taking action for people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver by adding 26 homes to a permanent supportive housing plan originally proposed in 2021.

Okanagan Indian Band members have access to new affordable homes with the opening of 16 rental units located on reserve.

The Province’s new housing plan will speed up delivery of new homes, increase the supply of middle-income housing, fight speculation and help those who need it the most.

VICTORIA - More than 135 people experiencing homelessness in the Greater Victoria area now have new homes with supports as three new projects open in the region.

VANCOUVER - The Province has provided an update about ongoing work with its partners to create a comprehensive Downtown Eastside response plan, including 330 new homes by the end of June.

PRINCETON - Twenty new temporary homes will open soon for seniors displaced by 2021 flooding, supported by the Province through BC Housing, the Town of Princeton, and the Princeton and District Community Services Society (PDCSS).

PORT ALBERNI — BC Housing has selected the Port Alberni Friendship Centre (PAFC) as the new operator of the Our Home on 8th supportive housing and shelter building in Port Alberni.

TOFINO - Families, seniors and people with low to moderate incomes in Tofino will soon have access to 37 new affordable homes as construction starts on a rental apartment building.

VICTORIA - More women and children will have an affordable, safe and secure place to go, as 150 homes are either opening or are under construction in four different locations throughout the province.

The BC Government has released Budget 2023. The Budget includes $4.2 billion over three years for significant investment in housing priorities, including those delivered by BC Housing.

LANGFORD - Seniors, individuals and families, including people living with disabilities, have a place they can call home now that 130 new affordable rental and supportive homes are open in Langford and Victoria.

BURNABY – Seniors with low to moderate incomes in Burnaby will soon have access to 155 new, affordable rental homes, as construction starts on a new project in the community.
