KELOWNA - The Province, through BC Housing, has partnered with Kelowna Gospel Mission (KGM) to lease a new site for use as a temporary shelter for people experiencing homelessness.

VANDERHOOF - A first-of-its-kind housing development that will provide a mix of affordable rental homes for seniors and homes for people who require on-site dementia care support is now open in Vanderhoof.

VANCOUVER - Youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Vancouver now have access to 40 new shelter units and on-site services, with Phase 2 completion of Covenant House Vancouver’s expansion project.

PRINCE GEORGE - More people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Prince George will have safe and secure homes with support services with the opening of 50 new supportive housing units.

COURTENAY - Construction has started on 40 new safe and secure transitional homes for women and children leaving violence in Courtenay.

VERNON - A new permanent supportive housing building with 51 safe and secure homes will soon be available in Vernon for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

VICTORIA - The Wuikinuxv-Kitasoo-Nuxalk Tribal Council (WKNTC) and BC Housing have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the goal of improving the quality of existing on- reserve housing.

VICTORIA - Construction is underway on a new housing project that will replace three aging apartment buildings with 97 affordable rental homes for families, seniors and people with low to moderate incomes.

VANCOUVER – Construction has begun on a new housing project that will provide 114new homes for individuals and families in Vancouver. The project is a partnership between the federal and provincial governments, the City of Vancouver and Lookout Housing and Health Society.

INVERMERE - Thirty new affordable rental homes are available for families, seniors, and women and children leaving violence in Invermere.

SAANICH - Work is underway on a new housing project that will provide 97 new rental homes for seniors in Saanich. The project is funded through a $22.3 million partnership between the federal and provincial governments, as well as Baptist Housing.

PENTICTON - An independent review of supportive housing sites in Penticton found that residents are benefiting from having a stable home with access to supports.

VANCOUVER - New affordable homes will soon be available for people with moderate and low incomes, seniors and families in Vancouver, with construction underway on 82 rental homes in Mount Pleasant.

KAMLOOPS – The Province, through BC Housing, is partnering with the Oncore Seniors Society to finance a rental complex in Kamloops, preserving 53 units of affordable rental housing for seniors.

KASLO - Construction is underway on 10 new affordable rental homes in Kaslo for families with low and moderate incomes, seniors, individuals and people living with disabilities.

MAPLE RIDGE - Families, seniors and youth are moving into 94 new, affordable rental homes built for people with moderate to low incomes in Maple Ridge.

NORTH COWICHAN - People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in North Cowichan will soon move into 52 new safe and secure homes as the community's first supportive housing building opens.

SURREY -Everyone in Canada deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. Affordable housing is key to Canada’s pandemic recovery for communities across the country, including the Lower Mainland. That is why the Government of Canada and the Province of B.C. are thrilled to announce that residents are moving into the Province’s complex-care beds in the new Foxglove multi-use housing building in Surrey.

RICHMOND - Twenty-seven new affordable and safe rental homes are available for single women and women with children in Richmond.

VANCOUVER - The Province, together with BC Housing and Atira Women's Resource Society, is opening 70 permanent homes for people who lost their homes when a fire destroyed the Winters Hotel in Gastown.

ABBOTSFORD - Construction is underway on 60 new supportive homes for men recovering from addiction and at risk of homelessness in Abbotsford.

The Province, through BC Housing, and the City of Kamloops have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that formalizes their commitment to work together on future housing projects and shelters.

PENTICTON - A new temporary shelter with 42 beds for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness is open in Penticton.

SQUAMISH - The Westwinds seniors housing development in Squamish is now open, providing 232 affordable rental homes for low-income seniors.

KAMLOOPS - With the opening of Moira House shelter, people experiencing homelessness in Kamloops have access to 40 new year-round shelter beds.

NELSON - The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the North Shore Inn in Nelson to provide 30 homes with supports for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

VERNON - The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the former Polson Park Motel in Vernon to provide 29 permanent homes with supports for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

In September 2017, BC Housing and Atira jointly initiated a financial review of Atira using BDO as the external consultant. The review scope was focused on addressing some outstanding issues related to Atira budgets for fiscal years ending March 31, 2012 to March 31, 2018. While the review was underway, approval was deferred for the budget items that were under review.

HEILTSUK NATION - Twelve new on-reserve affordable rental homes are open for Heiltsuk Nation members and families.
