BC Housing is aware that Pathways Abilities Society has been ordered by the City of Kelowna to immediately begin a planned evacuation of Hadgraft Wilson Place due to safety concerns resulting from construction activity at the nearby UBC Okanagan site. This order affects approximately 84 people who are living in the 68-unit building, as well as their pets. All tenants are required to move out of the building by the afternoon of April 2.

COURTENAY - People experiencing homelessness in Courtenay may have access to additional support as the Province, through BC Housing, has purchased land for a proposed supportive housing and permanent overnight shelter.

LANGLEY - Families, seniors and individuals in the Township of Langley now have access to 98 new affordable rental homes with the opening of Jennie Gaglardi Place.

UPPER NICOLA - Upper Nicola Band families, elders and individuals will soon move into 26 new affordable rental homes with the opening of Síyáʔ Place on reserve land.

OKANAGAN FALLS - More than 580 new affordable homes are on the way for renters living in interior and northern B.C., through partnerships between the Province and local non-profit housing providers.

SAANICH - Nearly 870 new affordable homes are on the way for renters on Vancouver Island, through partnerships between the Province and local non-profit housing providers.

CHILLIWACK - Young adults and seniors in Chilliwack will soon have access to new affordable homes with the opening of the Paramount.

SURREY - Nearly 2,000 new affordable homes are on the way for renters in Metro Vancouver, through partnerships between the Province and local non-profit housing providers.

RICHMOND - More families and individuals living in Richmond will soon have access to affordable housing as construction begins on the Pathways Clubhouse building.

VANCOUVER - More people in Vancouver, such as families, seniors and people living with disabilities, now have access to 82 new affordable rental homes with the opening of The Aster.

COQUITLAM - Families and individuals in Coquitlam now have access to 164 affordable rental homes as people move into Robert Nicklin Place.

NORTH VANCOUVER - Construction of 86 affordable homes is underway for independent seniors, individuals, and families with low to moderate incomes in the District of North Vancouver.

VICTORIA - A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been formalized between the Province and the City of Victoria to co-ordinate rapid supports for people experiencing homelessness in the community.

VANCOUVER - BC Builds, the Province’s new initiative to build more housing for people with middle incomes, will benefit from $2 billion in additional financing from the Government of Canada to help deliver thousands more homes that people with middle incomes who live and work in B.C. can afford.

VICTORIA - Members of the Songhees Nation will soon have access to new affordable rental housing with construction underway on 66 below-market homes on Songhees Nation land.

KELOWNA - People experiencing homelessness in Kelowna now have access to 60 new indoor spaces with the opening of STEP Place at 759 Crowley Ave.

CAMPBELL RIVER - People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Campbell River will soon have access to 40 temporary units with supports created through a partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the City of Campbell River.

VANCOUVER - Construction is underway on the seven-storey, 123-unit Vienna House project, creating affordable and sustainable homes for individuals, seniors, people living with disabilities, and families in Vancouver.

VANCOUVER - People experiencing homelessness in Vancouver will have access to safe and secure places to stay with the addition of two shelters in the community.

NORTH VANCOUVER - The Province has launched BC Builds to lower construction costs, speed up timelines, and deliver more homes that middle-income people who live and work in B.C. can afford.

NANAIMO - More supports are coming for people who are unhoused and sheltering in encampments.

OSOYOOS - People in Osoyoos will soon have access to 43 new affordable rental homes with construction starting on an on-reserve housing development.

The Province has issued a request for proposal (RFP) seeking a response from consultants with expertise in building design, engineering, and fire and life safety to better understand the potential for single egress stair (SES) designs in B.C. buildings.
